CHEMISTRY
Offers tests that deals mainly with metabolic and endocrine ailments(e.g. cholesterol, glucose, thyroid tests) .
COAGULATION
This section detects abnormalities of clotting mechanism in our body due to deficiencies of the clotting factors (prothrombin time, and bleeding time).
HEMATOLOGY
Offers tests that would help the primary physician to treat and diagnose ailments related to Blood dyscerasia (e.g., Leukemias and Anemias).
IMMUNOLOGY
This section concerns itself with the structure and function of the immune system, innate and acquired immunity, the bodily distinction of self from nonself, and laboratory techniques involving the interaction of antigens with specific antibodies.
MICROBIOLOGY
Detects the presence of an organism that is responsible for the infection (pathogenic organisms), also provides vital information for antibiotic sensitivity studies on the causative organism (e.g. E.coli food poisoning, strep throat, and staph skin infection).
SEROLOGY
Provides information for detection of recent or past infection, due to presence or absence of antigens and antibody (e.g. Hepatitis B surface antigen , Hepatitis B surface antibody and sexually transmitted diseases).
SPECIAL CHEMISTRY
The analysis and design of rare substances, including the complex method of detecting presence of HIV virus, or determining hormone levels from human blood
URINALYSIS
Provides tests for disease and conditions related to kidneys and metabolism issues (e.g. presence of glucose for possible diabetic, WBC and or bacteria in urine for possible infection and presence of protein for possible kidney disease).
